Present at ALLFORPACK EMBALLAGE PARIS, Ecocert highlights the Green Impact Index—a tool to assess the environmental and social impact of cosmetics and wellness products. Developed according to AFNOR Spec 2215, the index provides transparent, verifiable information via a QR code. Ecocert positions it as a complement to certification and reminds brands that an independent audit is required to validate results. The organisation offers to carry out these audits, showcasing its expertise and reliability. A quote request form is available on Ecocert’s website.

Ecocert, an exhibitor at the ALLFORPACK EMBALLAGE PARIS trade fair, explains the Green Impact Index and highlights its auditing capacity for brands interested in the approach

Ecocert highlights on its website the Green Impact Index rating system, dedicated to cosmetics and wellness products and developed by the Green Impact Index Consortium according to the ANFOR Spec 2215 methodology. This system makes it possible to assess the environmental and societal impact of the products concerned and to access detailed information via a QR code.

Ecocert presents this system as ‘a complementary solution to certification to demonstrate transparency to customers’, by providing access to substantiated and verifiable information, following an open process. The index is a summary of the environmental criterion (80% of the final score) and the societal criterion (20%).

Ecocert specifies, however, that ‘companies that choose to evaluate their products with the Green Impact Index are obliged to have their implementation of the methodology audited by an independent body’.

An audit that Ecocert proposes to carry out, emphasising the rigour and independence of its audits and the transparent validation of the scores obtained.
