The plastic: versatile and affordable
Plastic continues to play a central role in the world of packaging, thanks to its advantages in terms of safety, hygiene, robustness and modularity. It makes it possible to design a wide variety of packaging (flexible or rigid, primary, secondary, tertiary), while remaining competitive in cost.
However, if plastic wants to remain a reference in the packaging sector, it must face growing social and regulatory pressure: its environmental impact is now scrutinized, and it must evolve rapidly.
Paper & cardboard
Inexpensive, easy to process and with a strong ecological image, paper and cardboard occupy an essential place in the world of packaging. Their lightness, recyclability and adaptability to all types of packaging (primary, secondary or tertiary) make them particularly popular materials in a context of sustainable transition. Once perceived as fragile, they are now at the center of the strategies of brands, distributors and manufacturers, supported by public policies favoring recyclable and renewable materials.
The alternative materials
The evolution of the packaging and intralogistics ecosystem is not limited to traditional materials: it is driving industries to innovate to design more sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions.
The wood: a durable and aesthetic material
Wood stands out for its durability, natural resistance and ability to adapt to many uses: crates, pallets, crates, light packaging, etc. A renewable resource, it benefits from a strong ecological image and is a solid alternative in a context where environmental, regulatory and societal requirements are becoming more stringent.
The glass: a durable, versatile material
For a long time, glass was confined to a traditional role in packaging, but it is now back in the spotlight, thanks in particular to its recyclability. In a context of accelerated ecological transition, reinforced European regulations and ever-increasing consumer expectations, this material now embodies a certain balance between sustainability, circularity and innovation.
The metal: durable and resistant
In a context of increased eco-design and regulatory pressure, metal is emerging as a key material for sustainable packaging. Infinitely recyclable without loss of quality, robust, efficient and rewarding for brands, it is growing strongly in the food, cosmetics, industrial and luxury segments.
